What Uzima Means

The organizational name ‘Uzima’ is a Swahili word which means “full of life.” The name is derived from John 10:10 which says, “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full.”

Along with fullness of life, we find our calling further defined by the words of Luke 2:52: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man”.

Uzima Trust Fund

Uzima Education Centre is a program under Uzima Trust Fund, a non-profit trust registered in Kenya, under the Public Trustee Act Cap 164 and run by volunteers. This Trust was set up to support children in places such as Shiranga, a slum in Dandora, to have fullness of life and grow in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and men.
